Crane Operator Classes Prince George - For the operators and the supervisors, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content deals with relevant federal, provincial and state safety regulations. The training's first component consists of comprehensive in-class instruction and examination. After that is a customized hands-on session together with practical instruction and assessment.

Course content applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting machines. Specific instruction would concentrate on aspects of crane operation used at the trainee's workplace. Upon completing the course, trainees would know how to operate specific overhead lifting devices, related components and attachments efficiently and safely.

The operator course's goal is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits that may develop when an individual operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be prevented with proper habits. Training reduces the possibility of a workplace incident or injury occurring.

The course will encompass about eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their knowledge of training material through written testing and an assessment of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.

The in-class session, the trainee would be taught regarding legislation and guidelines, causes of occurrences and damages, internal responsibility, danger awareness, basic equipment and design principles, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, safe hosting/operating methods, pre-shift equipment checks, kinds of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, pedestrian/operator safety, angles and hitches, hand signals for operators and slingers, flipping/turning loads safely.

The practical training and evaluation part of the course must be pre-scheduled. This customized part of the training would be held at the trainees' facility. The length of this practical training component is an hour or two. The instructor will train two operators at a time on skills like for instance proper rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.

After finishing both the in-class instruction and the practical training and evaluation, the trainee would be tested via an exam. Each participant would be required to sign the safety rules. Successful trainees will be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
